'91 women's track team, Gould '92, Countryman '94 to be inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

The 1991 Jimmie women's track and field team, men's basketball standout Jeff Gould and All-American javelin thrower Bryon Countryman will be inducted into the Jamestown College Athletic Hall of Fame during Homecoming festivities.
Under head coach Jim Clark, the 1991 women's track and field team won all but two of their indoor meets and all but one outdoor meet during the season. The seniors on the team were members of teams that won every NDCAC indoor and outdoor conference title and every NAIA District 12 title for four years. The Jimmies also won all four conference cross country team championships during that time. Members of the 1991 team accounted for 18 NAIA All-American awards in their careers. Six school records are still held by members of the 1991 team.
Team members were: Jill Berg, Kellie Butler, Kathy Davidson, Christy Dockins, DeeAnn Edwards, Andrea Ellanson, Tami Ensrude, Patti Espe, Kristin Fallgren, Marlys Fischer, Shawna Gohrick, Laura Goodon, Kara Hagen, Heidi Hamilton, Heather Holmstrom, Dee Howard, Kathleen Johnson, Pam Lalim, Peggy McIntyre, Mandi Mee, Deb Meredith, Stacey Mills, Carrie Nace, Jessica Opgrand, Kathy Osland, Tammy Osler, Paula Price, Ronda Robison, Teresa Sage, Dawn Schmidt, Anita Shaw, Steph Snapp, Karrey Sorenson, LaCrissa St. Pierre, Kjersten Swanson, Renee Tastad, Vicki Taylor, Kim Torrey, Judee Trevino, Jackie Turney and Theresa Willoughby. Coaches were Jim Clark, Brent Lloyd and Larry McDaniel.
Gould, a Jamestown native and 1992 graduate of Jamestown College, played basketball for the Jimmies from 1988 to 1992 and ranks 20th on the Jimmies' all-time scoring list with 1,118 points. He was a two-time All-District and All-Conference selection, and he was the runner-up Most Valuable Player in the conference his senior year. Gould is a technical analyst for Microsoft.
Countryman, a 1994 graduate, came to Jamestown College from Eureka, Mont., and dominated the javelin event in the early 1990s. He was an NAIA All-American in 1990, 1991, and 1992, placing second in the nation in 1991 with a throw of 204'7”. He was also conference champion in each of those years. He was also the punter on the Jimmie football team for two seasons. Countryman owns his business, Big Country Construction.
The Athletic Hall of Fame Breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Level Two of the Nafus Student Center. Tickets are $8 at the door.
