Jamestown College soccer coach Ben Mumm has resigned after three seasons with the Jimmie women's program and two seasons with the men's program. He plans to relocate to South Dakota to join his wife, Teresa.
“(Athletic director) Lawrie Paulson and the athletic department have created a great working environment for mentoring new people and our student-athletes,” Mumm says. “Jamestown College has offered a wonderful learning experience for me and I am grateful for the opportunity as it has allowed me to meet some of the best mentors and friends I have ever had.”
Paulson says a search is underway for Mumm's successor.
“Ben has done a tremendous service for Jamestown College by getting the men's soccer program up and running while taking care of the women's program at the same time,” Paulson says. “While an excellent soccer coach and teacher, the attribute I appreciate about Coach Mumm above all others is that he truly cares for each student in his programs, and he went above and beyond for them many times. I want to publicly thank him for his service.”
Mumm joined the Jimmie coaching staff in 2006 after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Hastings College. He previously was the assistant coach for men's and women's soccer at Morningside College.
